Your application will be reviewed by a LaunchVic panel. Where relevant, industry partners may also be part of the panel. Applications are reviewed at the beginning of each month, and the team will reach out if more information is required.
Your submission will be assessed against the following criteria:
- The program runs in Victoria
Delivered in Victoria or primarily serves Victorian founders (e.g. run in person in Victoria, or online but highly accessible to Victorian founders, with any in-person events located in Victoria).
- The program directly supports startups
Focuses on startup development, not general small business training or professional development for individuals.
- The program is structured and time-bound
Has a defined start and end date, or a clear recurring cadence.
- The program has clear eligibility criteria
Specifies who it is for (e.g. early-stage founders, researchers, sector-specific groups).
- The program has a defined curriculum or offering
Includes structured workshops, mentoring, coaching, funding, or learning components.
- The program is delivered by an established organisation or program manager
Delivered by a recognised and credible provider (e.g. university, accelerator, innovation hub, industry body, or experienced program manager).
- The program is open for applications or has rolling intake
Either actively recruiting or expected to open within a reasonable timeframe.
- The program is not a standalone event
Excludes conferences, hackathons, pitch nights, or meetups unless part of a broader structured program.
- The program has demonstrated outcomes or a track record
Evidence of previous cohorts, alumni success, or a credible rationale if new.
- The program does not require unreasonable equity or fees
Is accessible and aligned with LaunchVic’s founder-first values.
- The program demonstrates a clear methodology
Clearly articulates how it supports founders, rather than relying on ad hoc sessions.
- The program aligns with LaunchVic’s definition of a startup
Does not target SMEs, lifestyle businesses, or non-commercial ventures.
- The program provides transparent terms
Clearly communicates fees, equity, IP arrangements, expectations, and access requirements.
- The program contributes to diversity and inclusion in the ecosystem
Actively supports, welcomes, or enables participation from underrepresented or diverse founder groups in meaningful ways.
