LaunchVic is calling for expressions of interest for its latest CivVic Labs challenge with Agriculture Victoria: ‘How might technology create circular economy opportunities in agriculture?’

Circular agriculture is about maximising efficiency, reducing waste, and creating new revenue streams within existing farming systems. It’s not just about sustainability- it’s about doing smart business.

As part of the latest CivVic challenge, up to $50,000 in equity-free funding is available for aspiring founders and early-stage startups with ideas in this exciting field.

Ten teams will be selected to go through a six-week design sprint pairing founders with farmers, industry leaders, and startup experts to help them refine their solutions.

Previous CivVic Lab participant in the most recent challenge on farm safety, Laurence Khoo, Founder of Lakes Entrance-based AgriAssure, said the program was an “eye-opener and learning curve.” His startup is working on helping agribusinesses assess risks and reduce insurance costs with smarter, more transparent solutions.

“Connecting with industry, government, and talented people in agriculture who genuinely want to make a difference has been incredibly valuable,” Khoo said.

Sam Pritchard, Co-Founder of People in Paddocks, echoed the sentiment. “From the facilitators and resources to the invaluable connections with top industry and government leaders, the CivVic Labs program has been world-class.”

Her startup is a dyslexic friendly workforce management platform that sources, trains, manages and motivates farm workers.

Founders interested in the latest CivVic Labs challenge can join an information session Tuesday, 8 April. EOI’s close 1pm Wednesday 16 April.
