Girl Geek Academy #SheHacks

Girl Geek Academy is a global movement encouraging women to learn technology and create startups. Girl Geek Academy is committed to increase inclusion and greater representation of women founders in the startup ecosystem.

#SheHacks is a Victorian-based incubator program delivered by Girl Geek Academy, equipping new women-led startups across the state with the critical training, mentoring and networking opportunities they need to succeed.

Supported through LaunchVic's second funding round, this incubator program included a series of workshops covering lean principles, customer acquisition, HR basics, brand, marketing and PR basics, finance basics, legal basics, pitching feedback and raising capital from investors.

The 2017 program culminated in the biggest all-women hackathon in the world with 130 women, 70 mentors and 30 MVPs (Minimum Viable Products) produced as a result.

Due to the success of this program, Girl Geek Academy was awarded with additional funding to deliver #SheHacks Victoria in 2019/2020. The women-focused program will include hackathons in Melbourne and regional Victoria and a startup incubator program supporting up to 30 female entrepreneurs.
