MID Open Talent Pathways
RMIT is a global university of technology, design and enterprise. One of Australia's original tertiary institutions, RMIT University enjoys an international reputation for excellence in professional and vocational education, applied research, and engagement with the needs of industry and the community.
In partnership with the University of Melbourne and Melbourne City Council, RMIT received funding through LaunchVic's tenth funding round to deliver the MID Open Talent Pathways project.
This project will increase the pipeline of startups and talent in HealthTech and SportsTech by targeting postgraduate students who are considering working in a startup or launching a startup. The curriculum will be codeveloped by the partners – RMIT, the University of Melbourne and the City of Melbourne. Participants will explore innovative deeptech solutions for real-world problems and market gaps within the health and sports domains and test their business ideas for IP and commercial viability. The program, starting in April 2020, will support 50 participants and will consist of an immersive bootcamp, educational program and mentoring.
