MedTech Actuator

With its global headquarters in Melbourne, the MedTech Actuator supports Victorian MedTech, HealthTech and BioTech startups through intensive mentorship, industry collaboration, and capital raising support.

Founded in 2018 by serial MedTech entrepreneurs and health policy experts, the program has already unlocked $62 million in venture funding and upskilled more than 2,500 clinical and research innovators.

In 2021, LaunchVic announced a three year investment for the MedTech Actuator to scale up its operations and meet the growing demand for global health solutions. Previously they received funding in 2018 through LaunchVic’s eighth funding grant round focused on leveraging Victoria’s key strengths in the health startup sector.

In March 2025 LaunchVic announced further funding for the MedTech Actuator run the MedTech Actuator Accelerator, designed to transform health-focused startups into global companies ready to drive impactful healthcare and economic outcomes.

The Victorian Accelerator program builds on the existing model – but provides a more intensive 6-month experience for founders with on-going support. The program integrates industry leadership, creative talent, and a structured funding pathway for Victorian startups.
